more patterns are being added every week

These amazing new products from the makeCNC workshops are not just simple vector clipart that you have to seperate and work on they are comlplete ready to use patterns in several formats that  already have seperated parts and are laid out with a number guide just waitng  for your CNC tool path or laser cutter, even your Scoll Saw

They come in many formats to work with  almost any software you use

In this Guide we will present the information you will need to begin to  get the best out of the makeCNC Inlay Intarsia and Stained Glass Pattern library of products.

This Elephant using laser cut hardwoods is just one example!

Or the Elephant example above using painted plywood. Just take a sponge brush and drag it around the edges of parts allowing the paint to soak in to the parts edge just a fraction. This will give the effect of a black line between parts in the final finish. You might want to try different color wood stains for another effect.

The uses we discuss in the guide are by no means the only uses for these patterns there are hundreds of amazing ways to utilize these patterns in your own projects and the methods we suggest here are only a few of them. If you come up with a great use for the pattern we encourage you to contact us with your ideas and we will incorporate them into this document if they are useful to other users of these patterns.

This guide is not intended to introduce the user to the concepts of Inlay, or Intarsia we assume you already have an understanding of the given disciplines subject matter and if not then we suggest researching your chosen use topic on places like you tube and other related websites online.

These patterns can be cut with several types of Tools including CNC Routers like Shopbot tools desktop and other types of CNC routing tools, Laser cutting Machines, Die cutting machines and manually using Scroll saws as well as water Jet or Plasma CNC tools.

From a limitless variety of materials including woodworking materials such as exotic and native woods ,MDF and plywood  as well as from colored acrylics for use in backlit signs and Faux acrylic stained glass windows and mobiles. You can cut them on a water jet and make true stained glass windows you can even cut them from foam board using a drag knife or CNC die cutting machine like the cougar PRO from BlackCat. The only limit is your imagination.

.PDF (for printing on paper and using a Scroll saw to cut parts)

Pattern Layout:

Inlay Patterns/templates/plans from makeCNC are fully scalable and come in simple layouts as in the images below for all our inlay patterns and are number coded with a Key to allow users to place parts correctly after cutting we also supply a color image in the Package to act as a guide for one possible way to color the material you use but the possibilities for each pattern are limitless and it’s up to the end user to decide how they want to color set wood grain angles etc for the projects they are creating using the patterns.

To the left in the above example image are the actual cut files for the parts. then in the top  right section there is a vector frame for that can be used for pocketing an inlay cavity or cutting a frame to use for placing parts. The center is a vector Key that is numbered that correspoinds to the part numbers on the indervidual parts. We suggest if cuttng parts that will be painted on a laser  you engrave the numbers on each part. If cutting wood for intasia with special directions in the wood grain for effect etc that you make sure you pencil the numbers on the back of each part as you cut the indervidual wood species on your CNC router Scroll Saw or Laser.
