Styracosaurus Spiked Lizard

Styracosaurus, meaning "Spiked Lizard" from the
ancient Greek word which meant "Spike at the butt-end
of a spear shaft" and was a genus of Herbivorous Ceratopsian
Dinosaur from the cretaceous Period about 76 million years
ago. It had 4-6 foot long horns extending from its neck
frill, a smaller horn on each of its cheeks and a single
horn protruding from its nose, which may have been up to
2 feet long and 6 inches wide.  Styracosaurus was a
relatively large dinosaur reaching lengths of 18 feet and
weighing nearly 3 tons. It stood about 6 feet and possessed
four short legs and a bulky body. Its tail was rather short
and the skull had a beak and shearing cheek teeth arranged
in continuous dental batteries, suggesting that the animal
sliced up plants. Aside from the large nasal horn and four
long frill spikes, the cranial ornamentation was variable.
A truly amazing dinosaur that you can make part of your
collection today!
