A riser tool post is used to bring the cutting tool back to lathe centerline height when using a riser block to raise the headstock to turn larger diameter parts.
The riser 3/8" insert tool post holds either a 3/8" square shank insert tool holder or a 3/8" round holder.

A riser or spacer block is used to increase the diameter of material that can be turned on the lathe.
A steady rest is used to position small diameter stock.
While these two requirements might seem to be mutually exclusive, there are times when a steady rest could be used on a lathe with riser block in place.

This useful accessory greatly expands the capability of the lathe.

This piece works with P/N 1291.

The cutoff tool holder riser block goes under the P/N 3002 cutoff tool holder to allow it to be used with the riser blocks in place.
